One year ago yesterday, I had the privilege of helping welcome this sweet baby girl into the world. This was the second birth I photographed for my friend Erin and I have to tell you, there's nothing like being there for the birth of a baby! Aside from your own baby of course!Erin tells this story much better than I could in her blog, please check that out! However, let me just say here that I will never forget how I felt when the baby was out and I saw that cord around her nec ......

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of photographing Betty & Jon for their engagement. Their sweet doggie Leonard tagged along and really stole the show, that pup has some great facial expressions for sure! By the way, I love Betty's dress and the colors they chose for the session! I'm seriously all about those blues lately. Here to follow are some of our favorite shots.

Derek and Jami had their ceremony on May 30, 2015 in the beautiful Crystal Garden Banquet & Event Center and even though the rain sequestered us to the indoors for most of the evening, it was still very lovey. In fact, all of the windows in the room we were in let in lots of great light, despite all of the clouds. After family formals and the bridal session, we started on some pictures of just Derek and Jami in the hall when it stopped raining long enough to grab some outsid ......

Sarah and David tied the knot on May 23, 2015 at a private location and had their reception at TBC Venue in Pevely, MO. Sarah wrote on her information form that she and David met during her first week of college, on an elevator! I think that sounds just like a movie. ;-)As you scroll down and view the photos, you'll notice a large white sheet contraption during the beginning of the ceremony. That was actually an ingenious invention created to ensure that David didn't see ......

I am attempting to get back to blogging sessions beginning with the Ramsey family!I have known this gorgeous family for a long time, almost as long as I remember! And it was an honor to get to do some family photos with them just before Christmas. Of course, we had such a strange fall and beginning of winter this season that we had some perfect weather and coloring for a session. I typically don't care much for cedars when it comes to scenery but I love the green with the yello ......

Seems like an engagement session always makes appearances as my first thing of the photography season! This year that spot was held by Rebekah and Jordan who are tying the knot this June.In February, we headed out on what turned out to be a pretty warm day for winter, to the covered bridge area north of Hillsboro. I love this place. The bridge is great but my favorite part is the field right there in the park area. I admit it, I love a good uncut field! We had a great time and they were just so c ......

Last year, for my summer modeling session, Deanna was willing to get all vintage-y and hang out in the oppressive heat for a bit, complete with very annoying mosquitoes! Of course, you can't tell that from the photos! She was just so darling, this is one of my favorite themed sessions with some of my favorite shots taken in front of the red building.

Well these two were just so adorable! And a year later, they still have some of my favorite couples shots. Steve and Gina were having a destination wedding last summer but they needed some engagement photos first - that's where I came in. ;-)We went to the spot where he had proposed, making it all the more special for the two of them. In the first shot, she had written on her hand what she'd said when he proposed. We took this shot first in case the marker were to wear off and she didn't tell hi ......

I love the part of spring where all of the flowering trees are in bloom! There are some that I just have to go see every year and last year I decided I needed a model for some. So I looked up Sara, I knew she was perfect for it! So we hit my favorite trees and a few more for some lovely spring time fun photos. ;-)

Tony & Jess had been together for about five years when they tied the knot last Thanksgiving weekend. The Christmas decorations at their church were in full swing making this my first Christmasy wedding. ;-)It was a lovely warm day, however, and we were able to do lots of photos outside the church (can you say bubbles??) and at a nearby park as the sun was starting to drop. I love the dark purple dresses and they really shone outside. I also captured some of my favorite ceremony photos to da ......

This might be one of those rare cases where I actually blog an engagement session before the wedding happens! I photographed Aaron and Ellen last November for their engagement sessions, their wedding is this June. Also included was Aaron's son who is clearly totally in love with Ellen. We had a great time playing around in the weeds and fields and leaves... and even with the donkeys. How cute! They even chose the shot of the two of them with the donkeys for their save the date postcards.I'm real ......

January 18th I did my first big bridal show. I've done a couple before but never one this large, with this big of a space. I've only ever had small tables before. Before I go any further - I could not have done this without some special people, especially Kate. Some of you may know Kate, she and I have been friends for a long time now and I have done photos for her family for several years. Last year, she started working with me as my wedding assistant. I could not have pulled this show off witho ......

Matt and Tracy were married on a beautiful - though quite warm - day in September of last year. This was the ultimate wedding, seriously. So beautiful and unique, I absolutely fell in love with the bouquets, for example... buttons and bling! We first met for a few getting ready pics of the girls and some decorations and people waiting around the lobby of the ceremony venue. Once everyone was ready, we did a First Look with the bride and groom, after doing one with her and her father. Several tear ......

About 10 months before this session, I was inspired when I saw Katelyn in her homecoming dress and immediately pictured this. It got cold rather quickly though and everyone was so busy so we waited until school wrapped for the year. Her mom did her hair and make up just as I had envisioned.Of course... we had a ton of fun with this! I just love all of it from the dress and the setting to the hair, make up, glitter, mask, and my OWL. Everything!

Shortly after I photographed her daughter for her senior portraits (coming soon), sweet Dee gave my daughter an authentic Sari. It was still a little bit big for my little petite Miss Thang but we made it work for a little photo session. Of course I had to take some photos!! How darling is this??This first photo is one of my favorites of her so far, ever. I even have it in a 6x6 wood print with dark walnut stain, the perfect size for taking with me on consultations.

You've seen these two here before, with their engagement photos. Finally, here are some of the wedding photos. This was a beautiful September day last year. Gorgeous skies and nice temperatures. Megan and Cary had a lovely ceremony following a First Look in Pevely. After the receiving line and family formals in the church, we headed off to Grace Presbyterian in Crystal City for the bridal party session. We had a great time and the wedding party was able to entertain themselves with some radio con ......

This was totally cool because my friends from Tulsa were able to come see me! We had a great time out in our woods, yes, that same spot I mentioned yesterday! The leaves at the time, mid-October had fallen quite a bit but still maintained color, there was so much yellow everywhere, I love it! Here are some of my favorite shots and seeing these guys again cannot come soon enough!!

I have already had the privilege of shooting Matt and Tracy's wedding in September, but we never did get around to sharing many of their engagement photos until now. We had a great time in July on what was thankfully a good day with decent weather and temperatures! We met on Matt's family farm and were able to utilize not only his grandparent's house but several areas of the farm including a beautifully golden, recently harvested field. The colors were just amazing. Here ......

I just wanted to brag on my bride a little bit. She had the most unique bouquets I have ever seen to date. I love them! I felt like the little girl in Despicable Me getting to photograph them (It's so fluffy, I'm gonna die!) except that they're not fluffy, they're just so totally awesome I was going to die. I seriously love these. AND, I even get to copy some of her own words from the equally unique programs from the day: The bride's bouquet includes her Great-Gr ......

I want to take a bit of a break from moving over my older blog entries to post Delani's session. I just finally finished posting the rest on Facebook. This was such fun! As you already know, my field of sunflowers this year grew with gusto (as opposed to last year!) and I did several family sessions around and in the flowers. They were getting close to dying though and I really wanted to do something one-on-one with someone before they were gone. Delani's mom had me ......

I have taken a bit of a break from weddings for the earlier part of this year and the summer but wedding season starts up in September with Cary and Megan! My friend Kate will be assisting me on this wedding and she joined me for their engagement photos. A few of the photos here were taken by Kate. In early August we took a bit of a walk down Festus Main Street and used some of the great architecture along the way. I even had a chance to break out my fish eye lens! ......

I first met Heather online back in 2009 when I was hospitalized with the pregnancy for my second child. My water had broken just before 21 weeks and I was spending weeks 26-29 (when she was born) in St. John's Mercy. Heather and I found each other, possibly through Baby Center, and were talking because in her own pregnancy, she was experiencing low fluid. We had a lot in common and continued to keep in touch. My daughter spent 3 months in the NICU and it was about the time of her release that I ......

Bella wasn't quite sure what to do with that cake, she was so dainty!View on Facebook! ......
