Here are some totally adorable engagement photos from last November. A fun fact: this beautiful woman is my little cousin! We had a great time running around under those willow trees and in the field and it was all just perfect. Great lighting and color, ahhh I love this place! So looking forward to their wedding this coming fall!

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of photographing Betty & Jon for their engagement. Their sweet doggie Leonard tagged along and really stole the show, that pup has some great facial expressions for sure! By the way, I love Betty's dress and the colors they chose for the session! I'm seriously all about those blues lately. Here to follow are some of our favorite shots.

Seems like an engagement session always makes appearances as my first thing of the photography season! This year that spot was held by Rebekah and Jordan who are tying the knot this June.In February, we headed out on what turned out to be a pretty warm day for winter, to the covered bridge area north of Hillsboro. I love this place. The bridge is great but my favorite part is the field right there in the park area. I admit it, I love a good uncut field! We had a great time and they were just so c ......

Well these two were just so adorable! And a year later, they still have some of my favorite couples shots. Steve and Gina were having a destination wedding last summer but they needed some engagement photos first - that's where I came in. ;-)We went to the spot where he had proposed, making it all the more special for the two of them. In the first shot, she had written on her hand what she'd said when he proposed. We took this shot first in case the marker were to wear off and she didn't tell hi ......

This might be one of those rare cases where I actually blog an engagement session before the wedding happens! I photographed Aaron and Ellen last November for their engagement sessions, their wedding is this June. Also included was Aaron's son who is clearly totally in love with Ellen. We had a great time playing around in the weeds and fields and leaves... and even with the donkeys. How cute! They even chose the shot of the two of them with the donkeys for their save the date postcards.I'm real ......

This was totally cool because my friends from Tulsa were able to come see me! We had a great time out in our woods, yes, that same spot I mentioned yesterday! The leaves at the time, mid-October had fallen quite a bit but still maintained color, there was so much yellow everywhere, I love it! Here are some of my favorite shots and seeing these guys again cannot come soon enough!!

I have already had the privilege of shooting Matt and Tracy's wedding in September, but we never did get around to sharing many of their engagement photos until now. We had a great time in July on what was thankfully a good day with decent weather and temperatures! We met on Matt's family farm and were able to utilize not only his grandparent's house but several areas of the farm including a beautifully golden, recently harvested field. The colors were just amazing. Here ......

I have taken a bit of a break from weddings for the earlier part of this year and the summer but wedding season starts up in September with Cary and Megan! My friend Kate will be assisting me on this wedding and she joined me for their engagement photos. A few of the photos here were taken by Kate. In early August we took a bit of a walk down Festus Main Street and used some of the great architecture along the way. I even had a chance to break out my fish eye lens! ......

Ok, I have to admit, this is one of my favorite couple's sessions ever. I had a great time with Brenna and Ed and the family that tagged along. I loved how they interacted, both so at ease and natural. View on Facebook!

Last fall, Codie and Marie trekked it with me to the wilderness of Ste. Genevieve County, MO to get some maternity photos before their little blessing arrived. It was quite chilly out, as late fall can tend to be at 830am, but they were a couple of troopers. Marie even got down in the tall grass for me - she's always happy to humor me. ;-)So here are my favorite shots. I gotta say, I really like that red shirt with the orangy browns of the scenery.View on Facebook! ......

The same day as the gender reveal, we also did some engagement photos. :) These are a few of my favorites. We also had some fun with confetti, as you'll see at the end. Looking forward to the wedding of this very special couple! :) View the album on Facebook!

Here is one of my recent projects. Meet Paul & Cheryl, a lovely couple that needed some photos done! Well, more accurately, Paul needed photos of him with BOTH his ladies. ;-) The Harley was a wonderful touch and we were able to highlight his other love quite a bit. I love the ideas that they came up with as well! So cute, but this first photo is my absolute favorite! Just so sweet! ?™?

I had asked Mackenzie and her sister Katie to model some crochet scarves that I made for me, so I could list them for sale online. (More on that here later but now here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HandmadeHolifield and here: https://www.facebook.com/HandmadeHolifield.) After we finished our little shoot, I was able to get some cute couple shots of Mackenzie and her boyfriend Zach. They're so cute. :) View the album on Facebook! ......

Last summer, as I'm sure you all remember, we had next to no rain so by fall, the Mississippi River was very low. This gave opportunity to me to take Ashleigh and Terry down to areas that are now inaccessible by the water. It was actually the first time I'd gotten to go down by the old rail transfer site, there were even some treasure hunters out there at the same time - not sure if they found anything! We had a great time playing around the ferry area and even got some good photos with their sp ......

I'm proud to call these guys family. We'd been talking about some photos with Jon and Sandy and their fur babies for a bit when we got this awesome snow that wet enough it stuck to the trees making for some really pretty scenery, much better than the snows we usually get! So we grabbed the opportunity and headed out for a quick session in the cold. We also borrowed the Christmas gift we'd gotten our parents/parents-in-law, check out the name log. It was made by Ryan Meyer of The Wood Den. Check ......
