This wedding ended up being my last of 2013, bringing with it a new record for weddings shot in a year for me as well. It was also a bit different for me as I was contracted as a last minute second shooter with someone else after the original wedding photographer canceled on this couple.
It was also one of my secret photographer dreams come true: shoot a wedding at the Jewel Box in St. Louis! I have always loved the Jewel Box, maybe in part because it seemed like it was also really special to my grandma. It's a greenhouse that was built in 1936 on a 17 acre plot of Forest Park and has gained international fame. I've done pictures here before, a few times actually, but until now, never a wedding. I have always wanted to not just do the bridal session around and in it, but the ceremony. We didn't get to do any bridal session pictures in it except the formal as we ran out of time (you are kept to strict hour and a half increments) but the girls had their pictures done on the way in and we did some group shots out on the front steps. It was a bit sad seeing the fountains empty and no greenery but hey, it was November, and we were instead treated to some gorgeous yellow leaves under the trees. After the ceremony it was back to the hotel that was also a gorgeous venue in Eureka where we finished up the bridal party then had the reception. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, start to finish.
There are a lot of photos here from the whole day, but take a look. :) I actually just had some of these photos printed and they are gorgeous!
