Ste. Genevieve Photographer | Delani & sunflowers

I want to take a bit of a break from moving over my older blog entries to post Delani's session.  I just finally finished posting the rest on Facebook.  This was such fun!  As you already know, my field of sunflowers this year grew with gusto (as opposed to last year!) and I did several family sessions around and in the flowers.  They were getting close to dying though and I really wanted to do something one-on-one with someone before they were gone.  Delani's mom had mentioned to me before that she would like to model sometime so she immediately came to mind.  I didn't really get this one out to my modeling database this time as I knew it was just a short thing and most of them live too far away to make it worth their while.  So we had a pretty short session because it was miserable out but we got quite a few pictures and ended up veering off away from the flowers for a bit at the end, too.  Just the day or so before, too, a friend from church, the beautiful Monica, had brought me a mirror she loved from an estate she's helping to manage and let me borrow it for a prop.  Delani and I had fun with it, trying to incorporate it yet also being aware of where we were pointing it - last thing I wanted was my own reflection.  ;-)  I think we got quite a few lovely shots with the mirror and I do really also like the ones of her laying down in the grass looking into it.
