October 21, 2018 was another gorgeous day for a wedding. We could not have asked for more beautiful weather for Rachel and Joseph to tie the knot. Fun fact, these two lovebirds traveled in from Colorado for their wedding and I could not have been more honored to be able to photograph it for them. Not only this, but while in town for wedding stuff, they were able to carve out enough time to meet up for an engagement session. We grabbed up some great pine trees and greenery in mid-July and I am superbly happy with the photos. There will be a small selection of these attached to this post.
The whole wedding day took place on the grounds of Chaumette Winery in Ste. Genevieve Co, MO. Cabins were reserved for getting ready (none pictured for this, sorry) with the ceremony in one of the vineyards and the reception in the barrel room. I truly enjoyed the intimacy of the day and was even able to be able to photograph every guest. Everyone had a great outlook and truly enjoyed one another's company.
As photographers know, bright sun is not always ideal for ceremonies and photos and what not, but we rocked it. After the formals, my assistant and I were able to spend a bit of extended time with the happy couple and mozied (as my grandmother used to say) around the vineyard, near the lake, etc., we even headed to the cabin where they were spending that night for some photos on the porch. Chaumette is very lovely and I was happy to be shooting there once again.
Oh, I must mention that I loved one detail about the wedding that Rachel and Joseph did a little differently from the traditional: Rachel's brother was her "Man of Honor," as she titled him. Joseph's brother stood in for his best man. I loved seeing the close relationships of these siblings!
After that, it was time for the reception in the barrel room. When you see the photos, you will know why it's called the barrel room! What a great place for an intimate reception. A wonderful meal followed by cake and desserts, several speeches, and lots of laughs.
