Jess and Dillon were married on May 11 at the Butterfly House in Chesterfield, MO. This was my first opportunity to photograph a wedding here and I loved it! We pretty much had a perfect day and it shows.
My assistant and I first met with the groom and his groomsmen and were soon joined by the bride and bridesmaids. We were able to do first look photos under the arbor that heads back to the gardens followed by some family and bridal party photos. This was followed by a little bit of downtime and then the ceremony. The ceremony took place out in the gardens under the pavillion. This gave me almost full range of motion and I was able to cover more angles than I usually can. I especially loved getting a good look at the sand pouring part of the ceremony as well as the ring exchange.
After the ceremony, we went straight into the Butterfly house for a private release. We laughed a lot as those little buggies didn't want to leave their mesh home at first. We got some photos of our newly married couple after but then hightailed it out of there to finish up family photos before the reception.
The reception was held just outside the gardens on the other side of the butterfly house, right up against the large glass windows and by the lake. An amazing meal was catered by Sugarfire BBQ followed by lots of dancing.
It was an absolutely beautiful day and I would definitely recommend this beautiful venue!
