Here are a few photos from a recent engagement session. This was a tricky one to pull off! Ben's schedule is pretty crazy right now so this puppy kept getting pushed off but we managed to get it in about a month before the wedding. Even though there's not a lot of time between the two, the engagement session is still important - it's a great chance for me to get to spend some time with the bride and groom and for both of us to familiarize one another with how we work, pose, and feel about photos. This was also my first time to meet Ben as, due to that schedule, he had been unable to make our first meeting.
I am so very glad we finally made this one work, though I do still feel very badly about these guys ending up with some chiggers! It was a super hot and humid day so we had to brave the critters. We met at the entrance to Trail of Tears State Park in Jackson, MO and just drove further into the park until we found some spots we liked. Even though he didn't make it into a lot of photos, it was also great to have the family dog along!
My absolute favorite photo from this session is displayed first and as of this writing, I even have it in my 2017-2018 wedding pricing guide that I just finished. I just love the interaction between the two of them!
