This is another fun session that was never blogged, oops! :)Had a great time getting together with this family earlier this spring for Mother's and Father's Days presents from the kids. Not just that but new additions to the family as well and took a few engagement photos for one of the girls. The first photo is also one of my favorite sibling photos I've ever taken. I just love not only the overall composition but how they are all grouped together cute as buttons.View the album ......

I have already had the privilege of shooting Matt and Tracy's wedding in September, but we never did get around to sharing many of their engagement photos until now. We had a great time in July on what was thankfully a good day with decent weather and temperatures! We met on Matt's family farm and were able to utilize not only his grandparent's house but several areas of the farm including a beautifully golden, recently harvested field. The colors were just amazing. Here ......

I just wanted to brag on my bride a little bit. She had the most unique bouquets I have ever seen to date. I love them! I felt like the little girl in Despicable Me getting to photograph them (It's so fluffy, I'm gonna die!) except that they're not fluffy, they're just so totally awesome I was going to die. I seriously love these. AND, I even get to copy some of her own words from the equally unique programs from the day: The bride's bouquet includes her Great-Gr ......

Now that I have finally caught up on bringing over - manually (of course) - all of my blog archives, I can start posting some new stuff regularly! Here are three pretty awesome kids. We met for a mini-session of sorts and it actually went very quickly as each of these kiddos was a willing participant and we ended up with several shots of each individual and group photos that Mom can print and hang. These four images are my favorite group shot and individual shots. And yes, her&nb ......

The beginning of the month, I had the privilege of working with this beautiful family and despite it being yet, another, hot and steamy evening, we had a great time. Adorable baby girl wasn't into it so much but we got some great shots anyway. We spent some time around one family place then headed to a second for more racing themed shots. She was so cute sitting there in that huge tire!View the album on Facebook. ......

I want to take a bit of a break from moving over my older blog entries to post Delani's session. I just finally finished posting the rest on Facebook. This was such fun! As you already know, my field of sunflowers this year grew with gusto (as opposed to last year!) and I did several family sessions around and in the flowers. They were getting close to dying though and I really wanted to do something one-on-one with someone before they were gone. Delani's mom had me ......

I have taken a bit of a break from weddings for the earlier part of this year and the summer but wedding season starts up in September with Cary and Megan! My friend Kate will be assisting me on this wedding and she joined me for their engagement photos. A few of the photos here were taken by Kate. In early August we took a bit of a walk down Festus Main Street and used some of the great architecture along the way. I even had a chance to break out my fish eye lens! ......

Here we have the Duncans! It was a pretty hot day in May, very humid, seems like every time I'm at this location it's unbearably hot! And Father and Son (Andrew and Collin) are polar opposites when it comes to being photographed - I'll let you guess which side of the coin they each fall on. ;-) We had a great time though and got lots of great shots. Especially Collin's collage of faces! I loved seeing it when it came in as the 10x10 print that Sarah order ......

One year ago to the day, on July 4, 2013, I had the privilege of photographing Kimberly and her doggie Ellie Mae while Kimberly was currently going through chemo for breast cancer. One year later, we met again to celebrate the journey that she had completed. Here are some of our favorite shots. The blue and the red outfits both looked amazing in the setting we chose.View the album on Facebook! ......

This is really just a post for me to see what this is going to look like. :)I'm in the process of moving to a new program for my clients' image proofing and ordering and it comes with all these great features including a blog section and I'm trying to decide if I should leave my previous blog for this. So we'll try a couple of posts and see. ;-)Updating that I love it! There are a few downsides to moving my blog to this program but I think that having the site be more coh ......

This bunch was the fourth group to take advantage of my bright and fun sunflowers. The girls were so not into it, but I got some smiles anyway. Little Man just grinned the whole time, so adorable. Here's a good selection of what we captured, I love the blues and the pink accent with the sunflowers' yellow and green.View on Facebook!

When a client orders a copy of every photo from their session... it's extra hard to choose what to post here!! ;-)The Steffen family came out on a VERY hot and steamy Saturday for a mini session in the sunflowers with their adorable little 2 month old baby girl. She was such a little trooper! ;-)View on Facebook!

Erin has been my friend since the 7th grade and Jim married in about 6 years ago. I'm so happy to get to do photos of them every year. I was even privileged enough to be there for the birth of their second child who is now, I can't believe it, almost 2 years old. They were one of the families to come out for the mini sunflower sessions and how cute is this? Unfortunately, we had one majorly disagreeable little guy. But he did manage a few smiles and we got a couple of candids and funny outtakes!V ......

So how about this, for one adorable family???We got out right at two weeks ago, my first sunflower 2014 subjects! Oh, yes, my in-laws let me grow a great little field of sunflowers. They were so much fun and I did several mini sessions here, but also the Whitehead family, who were the first, for their full session. It was so hot and humid, it was pretty miserable. But what else can you expect from Missouri? In July? Really, this summer could be a lot worse! Largely, it's been pretty good to me.Mo ......

I have known this awesome mom for quite a while and though we don't live close to one another any longer, I was honored that she had me do some family pictures when they were in town visiting their family. We met at Bee Tree Park in Arnold, MO and had a great session. Girl #2 wasn't so into the session at the start but once we got going she was showing off as much as her sister. One face swap later and we have a great family photo perfect for framing. As well as many others! The following are th ......

I first met Heather online back in 2009 when I was hospitalized with the pregnancy for my second child. My water had broken just before 21 weeks and I was spending weeks 26-29 (when she was born) in St. John's Mercy. Heather and I found each other, possibly through Baby Center, and were talking because in her own pregnancy, she was experiencing low fluid. We had a lot in common and continued to keep in touch. My daughter spent 3 months in the NICU and it was about the time of her release that I ......

Here is sweet little Bella! Her mom was totally prepared for this session and everything came out so adorable. I loved it all! The outfits and the props, all of it. She even had grandma's pearl necklace for little Bella to wear and the canopy was just, well, totally awesome. Bella wasn't quite sure what to do with that cake, she was so dainty!View on Facebook! ......

So apparently it is mid-May and I have yet to blog anything I have shot in 2014! Not to mention all the 2013 shoots I've neglected. So here's one from 2013 to get me started again. This wasn't my last 2013 session but it was part of a Christmas gift for proud moms and grandmoms so I did put aside posting it for a while. Just before Thanksgiving this family got out on a chilly morning and we took some adorable pictures as we avoided an attack turkey that seemed to have a vendetta against all of u ......

This wedding ended up being my last of 2013, bringing with it a new record for weddings shot in a year for me as well. It was also a bit different for me as I was contracted as a last minute second shooter with someone else after the original wedding photographer canceled on this couple. It was also one of my secret photographer dreams come true: shoot a wedding at the Jewel Box in St. Louis! I have always loved the Jewel Box, maybe in part because it seemed like it was also really special to my ......

Here's another flashback, since I officially stink at updating this blog! These are my own children so I really just have to brag on them. My oldest is OBSESSED with Doctor Who, like, seriously, no way around it. Not just that but Star Wars, Legos, Transformers, and more of the like. But Doctor Who really takes the cake for him and I blame The Doctor for this kid wanting to always be dressed up in a suit coat etc. He acts like he's allergic to t-shirts though we've managed to take that down a no ......

Last fall, Codie and Marie trekked it with me to the wilderness of Ste. Genevieve County, MO to get some maternity photos before their little blessing arrived. It was quite chilly out, as late fall can tend to be at 830am, but they were a couple of troopers. Marie even got down in the tall grass for me - she's always happy to humor me. ;-)So here are my favorite shots. I gotta say, I really like that red shirt with the orangy browns of the scenery.View on Facebook! ......

Here's Mackenzie again, for her second senior session! We were waiting for snow, and boy, we got it! This is actually from our snow the first time around this season. We've had two large snows here in the SEMO area so far. Unfortunately, I was too sick during the second to do any photo sessions. But Mackenzie's session is so good, another may not live up. heehee ;)She did seriously have so many good shots, it was hard to choose!Oh, and in similar news, Mackenzie was the first to be photographed ......

Before I get back to more sessions I had in the fall, here are a couple of random fall and winter photos of my own children. I have to admit, they're pretty cute when they want to be!I couldn't believe that yellow in my magnolia tree last fall. Went outside one day and it was just there, so so so so yellow. I love it. I love that tree. I grew it from a stick and it flowers for me at least 3 times a year. I'll miss it when we move, haha, guess I'll have to grow another!!My little girl is such a h ......
