If you know anything about Ste. Genevieve, you know it's the oldest permanent settlement West of the mighty Mississippi River. Because of that, we are inherently interested in history. There are also plenty of themed fairs and events that happen year round. We also have some wonderful people who enjoy making their own themed clothing, like Becky here. This was totally fun... in a word So, what's going on here? The furniture piece that Jaime is lounging on is a gossip bench or telephone seat. My grandfather had this one in his farm house and it has been passed on to me after he passed away this summer. It's not an antique but I can't find one just like it, one that it's supposed to be modeled after. We were guessing early 1900's style. The telephone came from a local pawn shop.
